Filtration Systems Installed Sturgeon Research Center

IAS is proud to have supplied complete recirculating filtration systems and temperature control equipment for Vancouver Island University's new International Center for Sturgeon Studies (ICSS) in Nanaimo, BC Canada.  The turnkey, automated 100 gpm and 200 gpm PermaBead filtration systems, MicroBead biofilters, and heat pumps supplied by IAS will help researchers focus on the husbandry and research of sturgeon rather than maintainenance of filtration equipment.  IAS worked on this groundbreaking project as a supplier in conjunction with Aquacare Environment, Inc. and JLH Consulting, LLC.

The ICSS is a world class facility intended for use by leading and emerging scientists from across Canada, the United States and internationally (Russia, Germany, Iran, France, Italy). Research efforts  will help to conserve and restore these "living fossils". ICSS is also the future host of the 2013 Sturgeon Syposium and Conference.
